Build Self Esteem in Girls

Focus on the positive to compliment and motivate yourself and see both your self-esteem and self-confidence strengthened and grow.

According to Webster’s dictionary, self-esteem is a feeling of satisfaction that someone has in themselves and their abilities. At the same time, self-confidence is someone’s confidence in themselves or their abilities.

There’s so much change happening around us. For one, the way we do school, in-person to distance learning, and the ripple effects on all other family and life schedules.

When you face set back or disappointment, how do you keep a positive attitude?
In moments like that, you’re tempted to start saying negative things about yourself or the situation because you don’t seem to see how forward or the way out. But please don’t do it. All that does is wither away at your self-esteem. Any negative statement you make about yourself to yourself, or if you believe negative comments someone else says about you, you’re letting your self-esteem undergo erosion or a withering process. You don’t notice it happening, but soon it starts to show as it becomes more regular.

In the face of a challenge, when you say, “I can’t,” the next thing you know, you start to give up on yourself, and what that will do is crush your self-confidence. Again, exposing it to the withering process.

The geological history of Niagara Falls reports that since the measurement of the Crestline in the year 1678, erosion of the crest has caused the waterfalls to retreat approximately 6.8 miles southward. The horseshoe falls, which are about 2,600 feet wide have also changed their shape through the process of erosion; evolving from a small arch to a horseshoe bend, to the present day gigantic V.

This has happened at a current rate of 30 centimeters (1 ft) per year.
The story of Niagara Falls shows that over several years, the force of the rushing waters has withered the Crestline about several feet from its original location.

To build healthy self-esteem and boost your confidence, you want to stop allowing the gushing water of difficulties to erode or wither away at you. Instead, let it wash away the discouragement. Like a windshield wiper clears the windshield so a driver can drive safely during a rainstorm, choose to have a positive attitude, and use positive words to build yourself up daily.

Be like the “little engine that could” and say daily; I think I can! I think I can!! I know I can!!!

Find something you are good at and practice doing it well.

Find something you like about yourself and be thankful for it.

What you focus on will grow.

So, focus on the positive daily.

“People often say motivation doesn’t last. Neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.”~Zig Ziglar
